Challenge:
With powerful business intelligence tools, Jenzabar improves information exchange and provides a competitive edge to over 700 college campuses worldwide. Its technology serves virtually everyone in the educational community, from students and professors to administration and staff.

News about Jenzabar was spreading and success stories were piling up; its new business team was getting busier and bigger. Request for Proposals (RFPs) began coming in at a breakneck pace. Due to the immense scope of a Jenzabar solution, these time-sensitive documents were extremely complex to assemble. Various senior managers were needed to review, make changes and sign off on each document.

This had to happen fast and it had to be completed accurately. With the high degree of complexity of each RFP, including a unique and complicated marking system for tabs, signature pages, and pagination instructions, Jenzabar couldn't consider relying on outsiders for production—until one day when an RFP was expected within 24 hours. Jenzabar knew it couldn't make the deadline; it was time to ask for help. Fortunately, Ambit was just an elevator ride away.

Solution:
Jenzabar took the stacks of pages and post-it notes to their downstairs neighbors at Ambit Press. They'd used Ambit for smaller projects and had always liked the quality of their work, but were a little unsure as to whether any outside resource could take on a job of this importance.

Almost immediately, Ambit assembled a production team to take on the time-sensitive project and a plan was quickly put into motion. Ambit quickly learned Jenzabar's coding system, nailing every detail of the complex report. Whether it was double-sided pages versus single-sided, right-hand starts versus left-hand starts, or understanding what tabs go with what color sections, the Ambit team amazed Jenzabar with its comprehension of the job.

Ambit employees are well versed in printing industry procedures and have a keen grasp on how to handle the most complex print job. While they have the passion and commitment to pull overnights, they also have the experience and technology to know how to avoid them. Ambit routinely takes on tough jobs and turns them into smooth transactions. Ambit believes that when a job adheres to a well-planned schedule, mistakes are rare.

Results:
The following morning, the staff at Jenzabar was greeted with a clean, accurate proof of what just a day earlier had been a collection of copies, paperclips and signatures. In fact, it was the best-looking RFP Jenzabar had ever produced. They were especially pleased with the Ambit-recommended enhancements such as the printed acetate covers and custom paper tabs, and of course, the very latest in digital print technology.

The RFPs made the various rounds for required approvals and Ambit was given the green light to print and ship them out. Ambit did-right on schedule.

Today, all of Jenzabar's RFPs are created using the production program that Ambit Press helped to develop. Fortunately, the program was created with allowances for unforeseen changes, giving Jenzabar the flexibility to address the business realities of the process, as well as the inflexibility of a hard deadline.

Ambit's processes keep the RFPs flowing out the door as quickly as they flow in.
